Class 10
The Information Technology (Subject Code 402) syllabus for Class 10 in the 2025-2026 session is divided into two primary parts for theory, followed by practical and project work. The total marks are 100, split between theory (50 marks) and practical assessments (50 marks).
Part A: Employability Skills (10 Marks)
This section focuses on essential soft skills and general workplace readiness.

Part B: Subject-Specific Skills (40 Marks)
This part focuses on technical competencies, primarily using tools from the LibreOffice suite.
- Unit 1: Digital Documentation (Advanced) (8 Marks) – Covers styles, images, templates, and mail merge using LibreOffice Writer.
- Unit 2: Electronic Spreadsheet (Advanced) (10 Marks) – Includes data consolidation, what-if analysis, macros, and linking data using LibreOffice Calc.
- Unit 3: Database Management System (12 Marks) – Focuses on RDBMS concepts, creating tables, queries, forms, and reports using LibreOffice Base.
- Unit 4: Maintain Healthy, Safe and Secure Working Environment (10 Marks) – Covers workplace safety, health, and security protocols.
Part C & D: Practical and Project Work (50 Marks)
These components are evaluated internally and through a practical exam.
- Practical Examination (30 Marks): Hands-on tasks in Documentation (5), Spreadsheets (5), and Databases (10), plus a Viva Voce (10).
- Project Work & Portfolio (20 Marks):
- Project/Field Visit: An interdisciplinary real-world case study documented in Writer and managed in Base.
- Portfolio/Practical File: Collection of printouts for at least 5 problems each from Writer, Calc, and Base.
